Athletic Realignments Announced

The University Interscholastic League has announced the athletic conference realignment for the 2010-2011 school year.

West Sabine, Broaddus and Brookeland will compete in District 24 1-A in basketball, along with Colmesneil and Zavalla.

In football, West Sabine will be aligned in District 11 1-A and compete against Colmesneil, Hull-Saisetta, Lovelady and Saratoga West Hardin.

Hemphill and San Augustine will again do battle in football in District 10 2-A competition and will face Corrigan-Camden, Deweyville, Groveton and New Waverly as opponents.

In basketball, the two schools will compete in District 22 and compete against Corrigan-Camden, Nacogdoches Central Heights, Newton, Woden and Woodville.

Classifications are determined based on enrollment.  Enrollment for 5A is 2065 & up, 4A 990 to 2064, 3A 430 to 989, 2A 200 to 429, 1A 199 & below.
